Surah Ash Shura Ayat 23 Translation Tafseer

Para 25 - اِلَیْهِ یُرَدُّ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

42.23

ذٰلِكَ الَّذِیْ یُبَشِّرُ اللّٰهُ عِبَادَهُ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِؕ-قُلْ لَّاۤ اَسْــٴَـلُكُمْ عَلَیْهِ اَجْرًا اِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِی الْقُرْبٰىؕ-وَ مَنْ یَّقْتَرِفْ حَسَنَةً نَّزِدْ لَهٗ فِیْهَا حُسْنًاؕ-اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ شَكُوْرٌ(23)

Kanz-ul-Irfan

This is what Allah gives glad tidings of to His people who believe and do righteous deeds. Say, “I do not ask you for any recompense for ˹the message˺, except love for ˹our˺ kinship.” [1] Whosoever does a good deed, We shall increase it in goodness for him. Surely, Allah is Most-Forgiving, Most-Appreciative.

Commentary

The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was linked to the tribe of Quraysh. Through their various clans, the disbelievers of Makkah were also from the tribe of Quraysh. Here, they are being told that even if they do not accept faith, they should refrain from being oppressive, causing harm, and creating obstacles in the path of rightful preaching out of due regard for kinship.
